Side-loading apps onto a LearnPad
It is possible to add your own apps and resources to a LearnPad. You will need to ensure that you have:
- The APK file of the app that you would like to install. (You can usually download APKs from a repository website if you do not have it already)
- The package name. (You should be able to find this in the URL of the APK that you are downloading – for example com.google.android.youtube)
Once you have this, log into ClassConnect with your email and ClassVR Portal password.

Click Resources > Add New Resource

Enter the name of the app, and select Application from the drop-down menu, then click Add Resource.

On the following screen, add in the package name.

Click Android Binary Files > Upload New Binary.

Navigate to the location where the APK is stored. Click Open and then upload.

Once the file has uploaded, click the ‘+’ next to Android Binary Files to check that the files are present.

Click Android Package Versions > Add New Package.

Click ‘unset’ under APK file, and then click the drop-down arrow. You should be able to select your app from the list.

Finally, you can add the resource to a category if required by dragging it onto an appropriate category icon.
