What This Content Is
VXRLabs is a third-party immersive learning platform developed by VictoryXR, not built by Avantis or ClassVR. Avantis and VictoryXR have curated a STEM-specific package of VXRLabs simulations and labs, described in the marketing material as available exclusively on the new 6DoF ClassVR Xcelerate headset, as part of a new ClassVR STEM Package. The experiences are described as "a modified and optimized selection of immersive learning simulations from VictoryXR's award-winning VXRLabs platform, designed specifically for the next generation of interactive classroom learning," covering molecules, body systems, chemistry, mathematics, and physics.
Launching the tracks
The STEM pack is designed to be a low-friction launch for schools:
- There is no separate account sign-in or activation code needed by the teacher or student to open.
- The tracks are loaded from the relevant section in the portal. Just drag the tracks to the ‘Playlist’ area and send to the ‘connected’ devices via the ‘Plan’ tab.
How VXRLabs Content Is Launched and Used
● Overview: a multiplayer lab exploring internal human anatomy — pull out the liver, investigate the femur, look inside the brain, with peers able to join. An in-app AI tutor is available to answer questions.
● Movement: to minimise VR sickness, teleporting is the recommended way to move — press and hold the (A) button on the right-hand controller to teleport. To move freely instead, use the left-hand controller thumbstick to move and the right-hand thumbstick to change the avatar's facing direction (which sets the direction of movement).
● Interacting with objects: squeeze the grip button on either controller (with middle and ring fingers) to pick up an interactable object; release the grip to let go.
● Interacting with menus: use laser pointers and the trigger button to interact with on-screen menus.
● Completing lessons: there is no set sequence of activities — follow the in-app instructions to work through the body systems in any order.
● Accessing the in-app menu: look at your left wrist, as if checking a watch, and the menu will appear. Volume/microphone settings live under this menu's "Settings" option.
● Headset settings: double-click the square button on the right-hand controller, then select "Settings."
● Exiting: double-click the square button on the right-hand controller, then select "Exit Application" with the trigger.
