Applies to models:
CVR-155-A / CVR-255 / CVR-255-64 / CVR-355-128 (Xplorer) / CVR-655-128 (Xcelerate)
Common Start-up Issues
You may experience one of the following when attempting to start your ClassVR headset:
- Static ClassVR logo on screen
- ClassVR logo spinning for more than 1 minute
- Spinning ClassVR logo followed by a shutdown
- Screen fading during boot-up
- Screen remains black despite being powered
- Headset powers on and off repeatedly
Initial Checks
Before beginning troubleshooting:
- Ensure the headset is sufficiently charged.
- Refer to the relevant charging guide for your model:
Step 1: Restart the Headset
- Hold the power button for 20 seconds until the device shuts down.
- Wait a few seconds, then press the power button again to start it.
- This action performs a hard reboot, useful for many stuck-boot issues.
Step 2: Factory Reset
If a reboot doesn't resolve the issue, you can try a factory reset.
Follow our guide here: Factory Reset Instructions
📌 Important Notes:
- A factory reset removes all user content, apps, software, and configurations.
- You’ll need the serial number and device name to complete the process.
For CVR255-64 devices that do not boot, a factory reset cannot be initiated locally. These may need to be reflashed — see below.
Step 3: Further Troubleshooting Steps
If a factory reset does not resolve the issue:
- Allow the headset to fully discharge, then recharge it in the charging case.
- Plug the device directly into a power outlet using a USB-C cable, bypassing the case.
- Wait up to 5 minutes after boot, as the device may be applying a firmware or client update in the background.
Step 4: Log the Issue
If the above steps do not resolve your issue, please submit a support ticket at
