Breaches in the case can also lead to light and dust getting into the inner workings of the device which can reduce viewing quality, and the headsets being in a weakened state susceptible to further damage.

In order to keep your headsets in the best possible condition, please ensure that they are handled carefully when in use, and that they are stored properly in the appropriate case or trolley when charging or not in use.
