Problems with charging the headset

Please note that this article covers the 255 VR headset.

If you are experiencing issues charging your headsets, then try the following steps:

  • Ensure that one of the charging cables is securely connected to the USB port on the bottom of the headset.
  • Check to ensure that the charging LED is illuminated. If it is not, then try unplugging the USB cable from the headset and plugging it back in again.

The indicator LED next to the USB-C port will indicate the charge status:

RedLow charge level (usually around 5%)
Flashing RedCritical charge level (usually around 1%) or possibly faulty battery
  • Check the battery temperature by monitoring the headset in the ClassVR Administration portal. For more information on this, please click here.

Further troubleshooting

- No charging lights on the headset.

  • Try unplugging and re-connecting the USB charging cable.
  • Try a different charging cable.
  • Ensure that the case is plugged into a power outlet, and that the other end of the USB cable is plugged into the hub.

- Charging light is on, but the headset is not charging.

  • Try unplugging and re-connecting the USB charging cable.
  • Power the headset off and on again.
  • Try plugging the headset directly to a power outlet using a suitable USB charging cable.

- Headset is getting hot while charging.

  • Remove the USB charging cable from the headset and allow to cool. Check that there is no damage to the charging cable and the headset’s USB port and then securely reconnect the charging cable again, monitoring the headset via the ClassVR Administration portal.
  • Try using a different USB charging cable.
  • If you are charging from the wall, ensure that the cable and charging plug are good quality.

- None of the headsets are charging.

  • Ensure that the charging case is connected to a power outlet.
  • Check that the USB charging hub is switched on and that the USB cables are all plugged in.

- Headset not holding charge or discharging quickly

  • Faulty battery – raise a support ticket for a replacement.
