Cracked or scratched lenses can happen as a result of leaving the headsets standing with the lenses against a hard or abrasive surface, improper handling/storage, prodding at the lenses with sharp objects or leaving out in the sun until they get too hot. It can also occur due to cleaning with an abrasive cloth or strong cleaning agents.
To make sure that the lenses provide the best viewing experience, ensure that they are stored carefully in the charging station. Do not rest things on top of the headsets when they are left on a desk, and make sure that the correct foam and headstraps are fitted.
